I will have to get myself "back to 'in the moment'" and try to become a respectable Aging Senior Citizen without getting those brain freeze moments

I am writing Poetry again....trying harder, and I am trying to find the old poems that I have written in the past, some of which have been published and those are easy to find because I have a copy of the books they were published in.   Sooo, forgive me for asking for TIME to complete my search and I will post many of the poems that I love.

I also have much more important news that never got to my Blog... I have a second Great-Grandchild,
his name is Finbarr Joseph Schatz (Finn for short) he was born September 8, 2014 and is passing his birth weight of 7 lb 10 oz very fast....Finn is now 5 months old and is a very happy smiling baby.

Here he is wearing the New Hat Nan made for him.......

Jamie with his new green scarf and new slippers from Nan.....Looking Great my Jamie

Look back again, real soon, please...more pictures and news to come.

High School 1954

High school, 1954

This is from the year after I started dating oldjoe

The act is "Bill Haley & the Comets", we actually did this at "George Diamond's Million Dollar Ballroom" on 26th and Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee. We were pretty good . . . we still think we are, oh well.
The big difference is we were in color not black & white.
Just a bit of where we came from . . . "if you don't understand history you'll make the same mistakes expecting a different outcome".
No mistake here. We're very happy and proud of how it, and all of you, turned out. Great fun always.

Go for it, don't let anyone tell you what the hell to do, we never did

On to the Green Bay Packers

I am a Green Bay Packer fan for many

years now....and have always been a

true, loyal, devoted or lose the

Now we are past Christmas

The joy and happiness leading up to
Christmas is now over. We all look
forward to the New Year now. New
Years Eve is normally one big happy,
joyful big party. Hats and Horns, loud
noise makers, and paper confetti, Beer
Wine, Egg Nog to drink, and anything
else you can think of people will drink.

Then of course there is food to eat.....
from Shrimp to Meatballs, and Potato
Chips to Nuts and everything in between
that one can think of.Eat yourself silly.

The Kiss that is given at Midnight to your
great better half, happens when the clock
strikes 12 and that BIG GLASS LITE BALL
in TIME SQUARE falls to the bottom.
Then it's time to dance and dance and still
more dancing, until it's time to go home.

The New Year has started and your good
intentions should be ready to start....

A Good New Year to All, and
2008 most PROSPEROUS.....

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

Today is Christmas Day....Santa has
come and gone, now starts a new year
that you must be good and do good
deeds for others. I like to think of my
self as a do-gooder.....making people
happy when I have a chance makes me
very Happy in my own Heart. To me
that is the most important way to having
a wonderful, grandeur, extravagant and
peaceful life.

Merry Christmas to All
and have a Prosperous 2008.

Well, I must admit, I miss watching the
snow fall and the beautiful picture it
makes......I sorta miss the cold outside,
but I do not miss shoveling the snow.

I can just hear the bells that are on the
horses.... jingle, jingle, jingle pulling
a sleigh through the white covered snow
that is on the ground. Over the hills and
thru the woods......jingle, jingle, jingle
onto a warm, cozy fireplace that awaits
when we get to our Friends Home.

Dreaming I guess is what I do best. I have had
flashes in my head, to the point of being able to
hear the jingle of the bells thinking of that picture,
I can smell the wood burning, the coldness on my
cheeks and the wind blowing the snow that is
falling. Close your eyes just to see if the
picture just painted me it does.

Hello to all My Friends

Just so you know, today I put a place where you
can vote/rate a Poem that I have is

Our Visitor

We had a Visitor that sat on our Balcony yesterday Thursday
November 1, 2007. We were very impressed with our Visitor,
can anyone help me identify what my visitor is??????

It had feathers that appeared to be black and grey, or maybe it
was dark brown and tan.....hard to tell looking through the
window.....about 15 inches tall, a 4 foot wing span as it flew off,
and a very serious beak with some even more serious Talons.

What do you think it is????????

I must now think of someone that the

"Nice Matter Award"

should be passed on to. Just give me a
day or two.....I must think about it!!!!!

Nice Matters Awards

On to the Awards Please!

“The Nice Matters award is awarded to those that are just nice people , good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!”

My dear Friend from Art by Chrysti that I have had for many years was the last one that had been nominated and she has continued the tradition by saying "I could nominate so many people, but I have decided to choose just one…"

"She is absolutely one of the kindest souls I have ever met… I knew her years ago, when collecting paper dolls rocked my world, and have been fortunate enough to get to know her once again through my art. Thanks my dear, for truly being one of the nicest women I have ever met! She has also overcome some serious health issues, and somehow manages to remain a forceful bright light through it all… We could all learn something from you."

“Be nice to people on your way up because you’ll meet them on your way down.” - Jimmy Durante

Warmly, Chrysti

Here is the Double Rainbow that Dan took while we were
up at Peggy's home in Weare, New Hampshire, on Lake
Horace.........what a beautiful site it was to see........a very
memorable day.

Sunday, July 08, 2007

My last writing states that no one was around when
we saw the Double Rainbow*, well I was wrong when I said that.......
Uncle Dan took a picture of it and he is sending it to me; he has
more pictures that he took and will include at the same time.

Another double rainbow

Well, I am back from Weare, New Hampshire where I
went to help celebrate my Granddaughter's High School
Graduation. was memorable.
I hope you believe this, but while there ....we
saw a Beautiful Double Rainbow* after a few
drops of rain.......No one had a camera to take
a picture of please believe me.........

My entire family went to help celebrate, and we
had a great time. Dan, Pete, Sam and Gracie's
friend Aric went to follow. They
had a wonderful time.....Hannah, Katie and Sam
saw a 12" diameter turtle.....trying to go down the
stairs....he went "tail over head" a couple of times,
he didn't make it all the way. Grace had to stop her
car.....because a female moose was in front of it
and would not move......she blasted the horn....she
also blinked her headlights, and the moose finally
walked on across the road and Grace continued
on to Concord, it was dusk so Grace got a good look
at the moose, but of course, no camera with her.

Watch the Eagle morph

Sunday, March 18, 2007

I guess work is done for the day and he thinks it's time for a break to play with his friend, Fritz,
After play time he will resume his lap time with me.
Hemmingway is my cat.......He has long white fur and he also has 7 toes on each front paw. I must tell you, he loves me...he sits on my lap all the time, when he is not working like in the picture. He is looking for a special picture that he wanted me to post......he is still looking for it. one of our cats. She loves oldjoe and waits for her morning nuggle everyday. Oldjoe also feeds the cats.......could that be why she loves him? Treat time is at 11:00 AM and at
8:00 PM.......he also gives them that........another reason.......

Sweetpea helps me when I am on the computer, but not as good as Hemmingway does......
Well, I am at it again....sorry for the confusion with the three different blogs. I am more confused than you are, part of the problem is not my fault but most of it I will take the blame for.

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge.
That myth is more potent than history.
That dreams are more powerful than facts.
That hope always triumphs over experience.
That laughter is the only cure for grief.
And I believe that Y love Y is stronger than death.

--Robert Fulgham, The Storyteller's Creed, from All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten: Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things

It wasn't me
Flory the Great

Grandma on

Monday, March 19, 2007 I must explain what is going on with my Blog......I think I have figured it out. It was necessary for me to cancel floryscraftandpoetryjournal and the flory one that was made for me. Please use that is the one that will work. Continuing each day, I try something different/new. My right hand is coming along and improving every day. I go to therapy two times a week, I get a Botox shot every three months, and continus to use my right hand more and more all the time. Back to the breathing test and the Apnea I have, I am still waiting for the traveling nurse to call me and set up my appointment to come to my home and explain how to use it. I think I talked about my Bionic Arm Brace that I used when I went to was a therapy day and I got a new kind of brace. It is called a SaeboStretch and the way it fits I think it is to keep my fingers straight....wear it for two hours and take it off for two hours. We will see how it works. Well until the next time I want to add to my story.......bye bye Monday, March 12, 2007 Sorry so many days have gone by without me posting.....but I had to go to the doctor's office, and he decided I needed an overnight stay for a breathing test. I am back from that and all I can report is that I ended up having a nose piece put on me and then I was to fall asleep.......they were not kidding. Results......Sleep Apnea. I guess I get the news from the doctor at the next appt. Wait and see, I have to.Now let see, I was talking about getting better a day at a time. That is what you do, or at least that is what I did......a day at a time....I decided that if I could manage to accomplish or try one new movement a day that would be great. So that is what I did and that included learning to write left handed. Once I started to be able to write, that someone else could read it, I wrote short poems. Writing poems kept me pretty busy, it was difficult to read and remember what Ihad read, so reading books was not on my list of things to do. I still to this day have a problem concentrating, retaining and understanding what I am reading. posted by flory @ 3:51 PM Thursday, March 08, 2007 I now know I had been suffering from an Ulcer that I was unaware of for a long time. When I finally woke up I was with my daughter in the ICC unit and she was very happy to see me awake, finally. From that day more tests were done and I continued to get better and better.A few days went by and I was improving daily, so the next thing was to learn to walk again....the therapist came to my room and started to explain what had to come next. I must now get out of bed and start using my legs.....Walking. Well that is what I started to learn that day..."She said, now talk out-loud to your right leg and tell it what you want it to do" so I said...right leg take a step..and I tried very hard to move my leg..Dragging my toe..I did very slowly..take what I thought was a step. With an emergency belt around my waist, which the therapist used to catch me if I started to fall, I had my therapist come on a daily basis, which I looked forward to.I also decided by myself that I had to learn how to write with my left hand. So Peggy brought me a pencil and paper to start using, which I did. Boy, I'll tell you that also was a hard job. I could not read it when I started....practice, practice and "talk to your left hand" remember, your brain doesn't even know that your right side is there, you must remember to tell your brain, so it starts to think and creat again. posted by flory @ 5:07 AM 1 comments Monday, March 05, 2007 In March 03 I found myself in the hospital with a diagnosis of a STROKE what a blast that was...I never, never expected that...It took me many days of really not knowing what was going on...I spent the first night counting....1 to 100 and back again....just making sure that I knew/remembered how to count. The I started to remember every ones birthday starting with Joe and going all the way to my last grandchild, Katie.....Now I was pretty sure that my memory/mind was going to be working pretty good. Now while I was struggling with the stroke, I also had a BIG problem with an ulcer that started to want to cause even more trouble, so out they put me again and the next day or so I remember that I was also taken care of by a wonderful Doctor that I got to meet after, I think, he really saved my life.
